What is your life?

Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go into this or that town and spend a year there and do business and make a profit.” You do not know about tomorrow. What is your life like? For you are a puff of smoke that appears for a short time and then vanishes. - James 4:13-14

As I was watching "It's A Wonderful Life," I contemplated the way I have measured my value. How have I been investing? Conclusion: Materialism is a poor standard. Relationships provide the best return! Relationships provide far more positive impact than anything else.

Light = Repentance

Ever thought about how truth and light are similar. God uses both to describe Himself. There is no darkness in Him at all. As His follower, I must continue to expose the very things that I want to hide. If I regard sin in my heart, I hinder fellowship, I isolate myself, I enslave myself. I must bring my sin to the light - repent.

What God wants from me

Micah 6:8 - What does God really want?

• Act justly 
• Love mercy
• Walk humbly with Him

The bottom line is that no matter what angle I look at answering this question of what God really wants, all the right answers include humility or the absence of pride. Every time I try to live life on my terms, I will fail. I must submit to living life on God's terms. As the designer and author of all life, He knows exactly how my life should be lived. The sooner I figure this out and submit to the process, the closer I will be to being who God wants me to be.
